Software Solution for Dispatch, Tracking, and Customer Visibility

The Problem

With an increase in business processes and number of employees for a courier firm, they wanted a comprehensive software that can handle every aspect of their operation. Beginning with controlling the delivery personnel, vehicles, delivery zones, and packages that need to be delivered, the client wanted their jobs listed, assigned, and their status updated. Moreover, they wanted to provide their customers a highly interactive interface where they can view their filed delivery requests and their status update in real time.

The Challenge

As the project was supposed to cover a vast market and several operations, there were many blockers required to be addressed. Some key problems out of those were as follow: Shortest Path Vehicle Speed Security Managing User Scalability to Handle a Large User Base

The Solution

While we came to development, the very first decision was to define interfaces for each user type and finally we designed following interfaces:

A web-interface for owner company to manage their employees, jobs, and view statistics.
Mobile application for delivery guys.
Mobile application for customers.

Engagement

BlocBelt provided 5 resources including 1 Solution Architect, 2 Back-end Developers, 1 UI/UX designer and 1 Project Manager. The engagement went for 8 months in which BlocBelt kept the client in constant communication with the team to get continuous feedback so that the project gets delivered with all the client’s needs fulfilled.

Results

The client was more than satisfied from the work provided by BlocBelt as it helped them in achieving better case management processes. The all-in-one platform helped our client to manage their in-house tasks without investing in a solution for every task. It saved a lot of time and cost, and they faced a huge upline in their productivity.
